Getting one point. Sometimes it’s hardly a positive, especially when a team is sloppy and struggling to hang on. But sometimes it’s a boon, a sign that, despite early woes, a team hung in there and is showing signs of progress.
Count the Stars for the latter on Sunday night. Down to the Cancucks (a few times), the Stars kept pushing. They kept looking for an equalizer until, with a little more than a minute in regulation, they got it. And even though they lost the shootout, the Stars finished this three-game Western Canada road trip with four out of six points and confidence heading back home.
